A Texas couple is behind bars after the death of their 2-year-old son who was in the care of his drug-addict mom when she killed and discarded his body in a dumpster.
35-year-old Laura Sanchez wasn’t allowed to care for the toddler, Frankie Gonzalez, without the presence of his father, Lorenzo Gonzalez, due to her excessive drug use. The father, however, left the boy with Sanchez and went to work. During that time, the mother slammed Frankie’s head against the wall and his lifeless body in a closet.
Two days later, she wrapped the boy in a dozen plastic bags before dumping him in the trash. She then went to report him missing before evidence linked her to his death.
The autopsy showed that Frankie suffered blunt force injuries in the forehead and scalp, broken ribs, and contusions. Sanchez was charged with first-degree injury to a child.
