A Florida couple is facing criminal charges for breaking quarantine rules strictly recommended by doctors after they both tested positive for the coronavirus.

Jose Antonio Freire Interian, 24, and Yohana Anahi Gonzalez, 26, were charged with breaking quarantine during a public health emergency and violating emergency management.

After positively testing for COVID-19 on July 15, Freire and Gonzalez were ordered to self-isolate in their three-bedroom house for at least two weeks. However, they were spotted barefaced going to the supermarket the next weekend. Neighbors told police the couple left their home again a few days later and went to walk their dog, buy groceries and wash their car, without wearing masks.

They were released after posting $1,000 bond.
