Minneapolis news, Minnesota news.

The Minnesota man who had admitted to murdering wife and burying her body at their home because she planned to leave him has been found dead at his prison cell on Saturday.

29-year-old Joshua Fury was found unresponsive inside his cell by correctional officers who were conducting a wellness check on the night. He died shortly later despite deputies' efforts to revive him by performing CPR. His cause of death was ruled ligature hanging suicide.

Fury was expected to be sentenced to 38 years behind bars on July 31 for killing his wife Maria Pew Weimelt on April 30. The victim had told her family that Fury was “controlling and possessive” and was planning to divorce him.

Weimelt’s body was discovered duct-taped and buried inside the couple’s basement.
