Baby dies after being ejected out of speeding car by intoxicated mom

A Las Vegas mom is in custody after the death of her 1-year-old son who was ejected out of her speeding car while she drove intoxicated.

Lauren Prescia, 24, had "bloodshot eyes" when arrested by officers Sunday at around 7:30 p.m. a "strong odor of an alcoholic beverage from her person" was also detected after she crashed her 2020 Hyundai Sonata into another car and a marquee sign.

Investigators determined that Prescia was traveling at 121 MPH while talking on the phone with her son's father, telling him "she was going to beat him home."

The woman who had been amid a fierce battle with the father over the baby's custody admitted she drank two 12-ounce White Claw hard seltzers that evening.

The boy was still strapped to his car seat when he was ejected. He died from severe head trauma.
