An Indiana mom has been fatally shot on July 5 when she shouted “All Lives Matter” at a group of “Black Lives Matter” while walking along the Indianapolis Canal Walk.
24-year-old Jessica Doty Whitaker was gunned down at around 3 a.m. when she exchanged words with a group of protesters. She was with her fiancé and friends when the strangers pulled weapons and fired at Whitaker’s group.
“It was squashed, and they went up the hill and left, we thought, but they were sitting on St. Clair waiting for us to come under the bridge, and that’s when she got shot,” the victim’s fiancé said.
No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. Whitaker is survived by her 3-year-old son: “Jessica, was a wonderful mother, sister, daughter, fiancée, friend, aunt, cousin, and coworker,” a GoFundMe page read.
