Texas patient dies of COVID-19 contracted willingly, believing it was a hoax: ‘I think I made a mistake’

Health officials in San Antonio, Texas declined to disclose information about a patient who succumbed to coronavirus they willingly contracted by attending a COVID-19 party to prove the deadly bug was just a hoax.

The last words of the patient were filled with regrets, according to the Chief Medical Officer of Methodist Healthcare Dr. Jane Appleby: “Just before the patient died, they looked at their nurse and said ‘I think I made a mistake, I thought this was a hoax, but it’s not.”

The doctor said that the patient affirmed attending a party held by a positively diagnosed person in order to prove the pandemic is a conspiracy: “I don’t want to be an alarmist and we’re just trying to share real-world examples.”
