A 15-year-old freshman at Frankford High School has passed away when he was targeted by an unknown gunman on Sunday night.

Angelo Walker was said to be biking when he was gunned down in the Overbrook section. The running back was described as a brother and joy to so many. The young player went by “Rooksie” on the field and had a promising future ahead of him.

“Losing Angelo, we lost a family member and it hurts, it’s hurting the whole team, it’s hurting our school, it’s hurting our community,” Coach Bill Sytsma said.

Walker is the third player of the Frankford Pioneers to die. On Thursday night, family members, friends, and teammates gathered to mourn his loss at the team’s stadium.
