Eagle County news, Colorado news.

Colorado authorities announced that the search for a missing nonverbal toddler ended after his body was found drowned in a river near his home.

Autopsy results determined Sebastian Rodriguez Castro’s death was accidental after he fell in the Eagle River neighboring his home on June 5. His sister told news outlets that Sebastian used to climb a satellite dish, pass through a fence, and wander in a local park.

“I thank the community for being patient as we followed this Office’s process for confirming the identity of a recovered body,” County Coroner Kara Bettis said in a Wednesday statement. “We hope this announcement brings closure to the family and a measure of healing to our caring community.”
