Los Angeles news, California news.

Since wearing face masks became mandatory in some states, several clashes between security guards trying to enforce rules and customers stuck to their opinions have been reported.

On July 5, a California security guard has fatally opened fire at a customer who refused to wear a mask and insisted to enter a market. Umeir Corniche Hawkins had multiple times fought 50-year-old Jerry Lewis and asked him to leave, but the stubborn customer returned again and again.

Hawkins has been charged with murder and possession of a handgun in connection with the fatal encounter while his wife, Sabrina Carter, was hit by one count of possession of a handgun. Both of them pleaded not guilty to the allegations.
