Tennessee authorities arrested the parents and grandfather of an infant who was found inside a cage surrounded by at least 100 snakes and mice crawling at a home.
The grisly discovery made by the Henry County Police on Thursday afternoon. The child is reportedly less than 2-year-old and was found in an extremely dangerous environment with large snakes and a box of mice next to his cage. The child didn’t however have signs of injuries other than being filthy.
According to police, the snakes are venomous and could have killed the child. Marijuana plants were also found at the home: “We are in an ongoing investigation in the northern part of the county involving child abuse, large scale animal abuse and a marijuana grow operation,” Sheriff Monte Belew said.
