Maryland Heights news, Missouri news.

A grieving family had the last glimpse of their late son he sent just minutes his jet crashed on Sunday killing him and his pals seen smiling in the last selfie.

37-year-old Daniel Shedd couldn’t wait for the flying trip he planned with his three university friends from Creve Coeur airport at about 3:19 p.m. Sunday. Everything seemed fine for the engineering graduates to live their first flight totally self-piloted.

Shedd sent his mom the pic as the aircraft took off. An hour later, the four men were declared dead at the crash scene. The victims were Shedd, Pilot Joshua Sweers, Daniel Schlosser, and John Camilleri.

“They were in great spirits. They were happy,” Shedd’s dad said. “This was his first time flying with them and I’m not sure if he had ever been in a small plane before.”
