Philadelphia news, Pennsylvania news.

A Pennsylvania woman has been busted after the grisly finding of her frozen grandma’s body in an empty home she had bought with the money she collected from the decedent’s social aid.

61-year-old Cynthia Black didn’t report her 97-year-old grandmother’s death in March 2004 and kept collecting her security checks with her late mom and a relative until 2010. The trio had received over $186,000.

Black and the relative purchased a home with the money in 2007. The home was lost to foreclosure years later with the frozen body stored inside. It was discovered in 2019 by two women investigating the home.

Black was charged with abuse of a corpse, theft, and receiving stolen property. Her relative is in custody for unrelated charges.
