Pennsylvania mom bought drugs to share with minor son, left him to die from overdose

Swatara Township news, Pennsylvania news.

A Pennsylvania mom is being held responsible for the overdose death of her 15-year-old son nearly a year after the tragic events occurred in her Swatara Township apartment.

49-year-old Jennifer Pugliese was charged with homicide and child endangerment following the July 2, 2019 death of her son, Dean, who was found lifeless in his couch with heroin in an eyeglass container beneath him.

The mom kept changing stories since the incident, before admitting she bought kratom to share with her son and texted him with instructions. When she returned home, the teen was sweaty and ill but all she did was giving him water. He lost consciousness and was gasping for air when she left him to sleep.

“If he died from the kratom then I’m responsible,” she told an investigator.
