As the coronavirus pandemic keeps humans home, many creatures are displaying weird, unusual behaviors showing curiosity or boredom. Dolphins in Australia went to the point of bringing gifts ashore to encourage people to get back and play with them.
Residents of Queensland said that dolphins are bringing them gifts to a venue where visitors used to line up to feed and play with them: “The pod has been bringing us regular gifts, showing us how much they’re missing the public interaction and attention. They are definitely missing you all,” a Facebook post reads.
The gifts are anything that seems precious to the animal, including sea sponges, barnacle-encrusted bottles, and coral: “Nothing surprises me with dolphins and their behavior anymore,” an expert said. “They do everything.”
