Regular at Waffle House shoots cook who asked him to wear mask

Aurora news, Colorado news.

A Colorado man has been charged with attempted murder after he shot a cook and assaulted him because he refused to let him inside a waffle house without wearing a face covering.

27-year-old Kelvin Watson shot the 25-year-old cook at an Aurora Waffle House on Thursday night because he denied him service for not wearing a mask. Watson left and returned later that same night threatening to “blow the cook’s brains out” while brandishing a gun.

The victim didn’t sue Watson that night but the following day, he paid the price: Watson came armed, shouting insults, slapped the man in the face, cut his lip, and then shot him.

The cook has been released from the hospital after treatment. Watson is free after posting bond.
