An argument over a missing gun turned deadly on March 30 when a Minnesota man stabbed his roommate in the eyes before gunning him down using two different rifles.

40-year-old Derek Sweere noticed on that tragic night that his .22 caliber Model 60 Marlin was missing and immediately suspected his friend, Brandon Snyder, had stolen it. A physical altercation between the pair accelerated with Sweere stabbing his roommate and shooting him 16 times with a .22-caliber rifle and a .270-caliber rifle.

Sweere told detectives that he was planning to ask Snyder to move out of the residence because his dog didn’t like him and that when he shot him, he was already dead. He is facing second-degree murder charges.
