Monroe County news, West Virginia news.

Authorities in West Virginia are investigating a murder-suicide incident after discovering the four bodies of a Monroe County family over the last weekend.

Officers first responded to a creek where they found two deceased girls floating on waters. They were 11-month-old and 8-year-old. Police believed they were murdered.

The next day, and as detectives searched for their parents, they were shocked to discover their dead bodies side by side in a wooded area near a field. The couple was identified as Kevin Anderson, 40, and Helen Rattamasribounreuang, 30.

“We have reason to believe they died in the early morning hours Sunday,” Sgt. Andy Evans said. “No one expected a situation like this.”
