Mother of missing Charlotte baby arrested after body found in cemetery

The mother of a missing North Carolina baby has been apprehended after his body was discovered discarded in a local cemetery last February, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.

30-year-old Tamara Jernel Brown was charged with murder over the death of 6-month-old Chi-Liam Cody Brown-Erickson. She was arrested on Friday after the preliminary investigation linked her to the murder.

Officers discovered the child’s body on the morning of Feb. 22 at the Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery. The remains were identified as Brown-Erickson but the cause of death has not been determined. The victim and his mom were last seen together on Feb. 20.

Authorities have not released further details about the investigation.
