Sugar Loaf news, North Carolina news.

The Roanoke medical examiner had confirmed the identity of a body that was found next to two others in a burned out car as a missing North Carolina mom.

On June 15, 2019, 38-year-old Maria Calderon Martinez was nowhere to be found after the bodies of her children, ages 11 and 13, were discovered dead following an intentionally set house fire. Authorities have arrested Calderon’s ex-boyfriend Areli Aguiree Avilez, 30, and his girlfriend Heidi Darlene Wolfe, 16, in connection with the murders.

Months later, a burnt out truck with the skeletal remains of three people was discovered in Virginia. One of the bodies was that of Calderon while the two others are believed to be her boyfriend and a friend of his.

Further charges are expected for Avilez and Wolfe.
