South Carolina authorities are racing against time to find a 6-year-old girl who vanished after stepping off her school bus on Monday afternoon.
Faye Marie Svetlik was last seen playing outside her home in Churchill Heights neighborhood before she went missing at about 3:44 p.m. She was described as 3-foot-10 and weighing 65 pounds.
“She has strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes, was last seen wearing polka dot boots and a black t-shirt,” the Lexington Sheriff’s Office said. “She is lactose intolerant and has a speech impediment with a tethered tongue.”
Investigators are examining the neighbors’ surveillance videos and Faye’s home where she used to live with her mother: “She always wants to play and have fun,” a family member said. “She’s not one of those kids that will get up and leave.”
