Florida officials intensified the search in the hopes of finding two missing children who they believe were abducted by their mother following a custody visit Friday.
The kids were identified as 11-year-old Isabelle Jones and her 5-year-old brother Xavier Espinosa who were living in their grandmother's home in Lowe's in DeLand. The elderly woman was given custody amid a violent domestic living environment with the children's mother, Margarita Guiterrez, and her live-in fiance.
At about 12:30 p.m., Guiterrez met with her children in an unsupervised visit and without notifying the sheriff's office. She picked them up but have never returned.
Police are urging anyone with information concerning Guiterrez and her kids' whereabouts to contact the sheriff's office at 386-239-8276.
