League City authorities announced the arrest of a 40-year-old Customs and Border Protection officer in connection with the shooting death of his wife late Thursday night.
Dudley Bernard was booked in the killing of his 42-year-old wife, Chauntelle Bernard, whose body was found at the couple's residence on November 28.
At around 11 p.m., police received multiple emergency calls reporting a shooting at the home. Once there, they found the victim who was also a CBP employee, "deceased at the front door of the residence with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds," Texas authorities confirmed in a Facebook post on Friday.
Bernard's two children and some family relatives were inside the home where a "disturbance" has taken place shortly before the shooting started.
