Man went missing after his vehicle crashed into tree in Maine

Maine State authorities are intensifying their search for a man who went missing after his car crashed into a tree on Monday.

The family of 25-year-old Brett Doane has not heard from him since the crash that occurred at about 3 a.m. on Lee Road in Lee.

Police found the seriously damaged car at the scene, but the driver was nowhere to be found. They believe he was injured in the crash.

A homeowner told police that he stayed with Doane for nearly 45 minutes following the crash before he walked away from the scene. He said that Doane was not bleeding but was injured in the leg.

Doane was wearing brown hiking boots, tan and gray Dickie's-style pants, a gray shirt and a canvas Carhatt-style vest when he was last seen. Anyone with information about Doane can call police at 207-973-3700.
