An 87-year-old grandmother was arrested after she killed her grandson with a drug overdose fearing for his wellbeing when she dies.
Lillian Parks is facing second-degree murder charges after admitting to investigators that she overdosed her 30-year-old disabled grandson Joel Parks who was found dead at the grandmother's house on Sunday.
Joel was staying with his grandmother on the weekends and at a group home during the entire week.
"She was concerned about her medical condition and was worried about who would be caring for him when she passed away," Bradenton Police Department Captain Brian Thiers said.
The drug used by Parks is yet to be determined pending toxicology results.
