Stockton Police Department announced the arrest of a 15-year-old mother who reportedly left her newborn child in a dumpster.
The unidentified teenage mother will be charged with child abuse/endangerment as soon as she leaves the hospital, according to authorities. She is accused of leaving her newborn son alive in a dumpster: "Today, at approximately 11:43 a.m.; officers responded to the 5900 blocks of Village Green Drive on a report of a possible baby in the dumpster at the location," the department wrote on Facebook. "When officers arrived, they met with a citizen who told officers he thought he saw a baby wrapped up inside the dumpster."
The baby has been rushed to a nearby hospital and is improving. He will remain with child protective services.
