A 23-year-old Virginia man was convicted of malicious wounding and aggravated malicious wounding after he intentionally bit off and swallowed his grandfather's index fingertip amid a familial dispute.

On Thursday, a judge found Aaron Michael Adams guilty of the December 2017 aggressive attack. He could then spend several years behind bars in connection to the incident.

During the investigation, the unidentified victim told officers that the suspect jumped him when the two entered in a familial dispute. Upon police arrival, they found the elderly man severely bleeding from his index finger while the part "just above the first knuckle appeared to be missing" while his left was wrapped, a written police report revealed.
