A Tennessee district attorney is being investigated after posting anti-Islamic comments on social media and saying homosexuals should not be protected from domestic violence.
The Council on US-Islamic Relations provided a copy of a letter sent by the State Supreme Court's Professional Liability Council confirming its investigation of County County County Attorney Craig Northcott. The council has filed a complaint.
Northcott wrote that Islam was "perverse, violent and against the truth of God".
He was recorded saying he did not believe in gay marriage.
Northcott did not immediately respond to a voice message requesting a comment.
