A North Carolina teacher has been charged after she stored a student's gun until the end of the day without notifying the school officials, according to Winston-Salem police.
Sarah Melissa Wilson, 25-year-old, was charged with helping a minor possess a firearm on educational property. The events occurred last month when the Paisley Magnet School teacher was told about the gun and gave it to her. She later let the student pick up the gun at the end of the school day.
According to authorities, the same firearm was involved in two separate incidents inside the school and the campus.
The teacher was released after posting bond. Her next court appearance is scheduled for May 30.
