Sugar Land news, Texas news.

Authorities announced that the stepfather of the Texas 4-year-old girl who went missing on May 4 was charged with tampering with evidence of a human corpse.

The charges stemmed from the new evidence that investigators were able to collect from the girl's apartment and her stepfather's vehicle including blood and decomposition sent. Surveillance video from the family residence also showed 26-year-old Derion Vence entering and exiting with bottles of bleach and garbage bags.

Police didn't confirm the death of Maleah Davis as the search of her remains continues.

In addition to the new developments in the girl's disappearance case, the changing stories that Vence gave of her abduction made investigators focus on him as the main suspect in her death.
