Ukiah authorities have announced that the orange jumpsuit that has been found on the sidewalk of a street in Ukiah has been likely released with a state prisoner in error.
The jumpsuit, that was found by a local resident who was walking her dogs, was linked to an inmate who was released from San Quentin jail during the current week. Investigators could match the clothing to the inmate thanks to items and paperworks that were found with it.
"My understanding is that inmates are checked before they are released to make sure they no longer have prison clothing on them," said Sgt. Noble Waidelich. "Because such items are technically state property, and seeing them on the street like that can cause concern."
