A couple was found shot dead inside a south Birmingham motel room Saturday morning, police said.
Officers responded to the extended stay motel InTown Suites, on Oxmoor Road and found the victims in a second-floor room.
The man and woman were pronounced dead at the scene. Both suffered from gunshot wounds, and a gun was located near the bodies.

“Detectives have been canvassing the entire property,” said Officer Truman Fitzgerald.
“At this time, we haven’t observed any signs of someone else being in the room with them.”
“We are not ruling out anything. It doesn’t appear that it’s a double homicide.”
The couple had been staying at the motel for around a week. They were reportedly “quiet” and kept to themselves.
