Texas Police investigating after ‘numerous’ homemade explosive devices found near park

Authorities in Garland, Texas, are investigating after “numerous” homemade explosive devices were found near a park on Sunday.

A person walking in a wooded area near Wynne Park in Garland saw an open suitcase with suspicious items scattered around it and called 911 at 11:30 a.m.

The Garland Police Bomb Unit and the FBI responded to the scene and located “There were numerous live homemade explosive devices.”

  • “Bomb technicians worked through the day and into the night to safety render each device inoperative,” authorities said.

    An investigation is ongoing to determine the origin of the devices and the intent of leaving them outside the park.

    A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for relevant information in the case.
