Police announced on Thursday the arrests of a man and a woman who led officers in a long, perilous car chase before continuing on foot.
Authorities approached the suspects at about 4.15 p.m. at a restaurant parking lot for driving a stolen car. They reportedly ignored the police calls to stop and drove to Dub Wright Boulevard reaching speeds of 70 mph until they crashed at Buffalo Gap when they ran away on foot.
Officers were able to arrest the 23-year-old woman in a field, and witnesses reported the other suspect's presence in their yard.
The woman was charged with credit card abuse, evading arrest and failure to identify. The man faces charges of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and evading felonies.
