A pilot facing criminal charges shot himself dead outside of an MBTA station garage Friday morning.
As officers with the Massachusetts State Police approached 33-year-old Jeremy Gudorf’s parked vehicle at the Wonderland station garage in Revere, the man produced a gun and “abruptly shot himself.”
Gudorf died at a local hospital despite troopers’ efforts to render aid.
On Feb. 20, Gudorf was arrested at Boston’s Logan Airport moments before taking off on a flight to Paris.
The JetBlue pilot was arraigned in East Boston District Court on a fugitive from justice charge.
Prosecutors revealed that he was wanted in Huntersville, North Carolina on charges related to exploitation of a minor for service.
After his arrest, JetBlue announced that Gudorf had been placed on “indefinite leave.”
“We are aware of and closely reviewing the arrest of one of our pilots upon reporting for work at Boston’s Logan Airport Thursday evening due to an outstanding warrant,” the company said.
“The pilot has been placed on indefinite leave as law enforcement proceeds with the matter.”
