A Texas inmate was put to death late Thursday for the 2004 killings of his strip club manager and a friend.
Richard Lee Tabler, 46, was pronounced dead at 6:38 p.m. 15 minutes after he received a lethal dose of pentobarbital at the state penitentiary in Huntsville.
“There is not a day that goes by that I don’t regret my actions,” Tabler said as he layed strapped to the gurney.
“I had no right to take your loved ones from you, and I ask and pray, hope and pray, that one day you find it in your hearts to forgive me for those actions,”
“No amount of my apologies will ever return them to you.”
Tabler was the second death row inmate executed in Texas within a week. He was convicted of shooting Mohammed-Amine Rahmouni, 28, and Haitham Zayed, 25, to death in a remote area neat Killeen on Thanksgiving 2004.
He also confessed to killing two teen girls working at the club but was never tried for their murders.
