A Baltimore girl is in critical condition after she accidentally shot herself while visiting her grandmother’s home Saturday afternoon.
The shooting took place on the 3500 block of Ingleside Avenue at around 3:15 p.m. Saturday.
The girl was injured, suffering a gunshot wound to the head. She was taken to a hospital where she was listed in critical condition.
Investigators deemed the incident a “self-inflicted accidental shooting” but homicide detectives were also at the scene.
“She was stable enough to be transported to Hopkins for care and we hope that she can survive,” said Police Commissioner Richard Worley.
“All indications are that the young lady got a hold of a weapon that was unsecured and shot herself.”
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.”
