‘It’s sad’: Mass. girl with autism pulled dead from icy pond

A missing Massachusetts girl was pulled dead from an icy pond near her home on Friday, authorities said.

The 6-year-old vanished at around 2:30 p.m. from her Power Street home launching an extensive air and ground search that involved several agencies.

The autistic girl’s body was found in icy water near Barrowsville Pond and Wading River.

    “This is not the day we were looking for, we offer our thoughts and prayers to the family, we offer our condolences,” said Norton Police Chief Brian Clark.

    “It’s sad. She’s a little girl, everybody has children a lot of police officers and firefighters who responded have children and, there’s a big autism community, we’re just sad that this happened.”
