A driver fleeing police attempting to pull him for a minor infraction ended up hitting and killing an innocent pedestrian early Wednesday in Las Vegas.
The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Lamd Boulevard and Stewart Avenue where officers tried to stop the driver at Charleston Boulevard and Lamb for a minor infraction.
Metro Deputy Chief Branden Clarkson said the car sped northbound on Lamb before crashing into another vehicle, a person on a bicycle, and into a wall.
“By the time the officer caught up to the vehicle the suspect had already crashed into the wall and hit the pedestrian,” he said.
The biker died at the scene while the other car’s driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital.
The unidentified suspect was taken into custody and charges are expected against him.
