A Maryland boy was tragically killed by his father during a domestic incident between his parents on Christmas Eve.
4-year-old Jacobi Jones was fatally shot by his father, Mark C. Jones, who also shot the boy’s 1-year-old sister and the children’s mother before turning the gun on himself.
All but Jacobi survived their injuries. His mother recalled how he told his father to leave her room when the man started arguing at around 6 a.m.
The mother, Promyss Marcelle, was sleeping with her children on the bed when Jones stormed into their room and began a dispute that ended with the deadly shooting.
Jones was charged with one count of first-degree murder, and two counts of attempted first-degree murder, child abuse, and assault charges.
Marcelle is left to grieve the loss of her young child who was excited about Christmas.
“He kept trying to open the presents but I would tell him you’ve got to wait till Christmas. And he never got to open those presents,” she said.
