A Texas man with the name of his ex-girlfriend inked on his chest stands accused of killing her following a domestic violence incident just one day before her birthday.

Jorge Albert Chavez, 30, “severely stabbed” Dafne Michelle Davila, 27, late Sunday night as she tried to reconcile with him.

“At approximately 3:30 a.m., El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of family violence occurring,” police said.

“Upon arrival, deputies noticed the suspect leaving the scene in a gray 2024 Chevrolet pickup truck,”

“Once inside the residence, deputies discovered the female victim had been severely stabbed,”

“In reality, it’s so hard for me to walk away and idk why, because old me wouldn’t of lasted a second in this place,” she reportedly told a relative.

“I know I have you and I’m beyond grateful but I can’t explain why I’m attached. All I ask for is please be patient with me.”

Chavez was arrested in Reeves County, roughly 200 miles away from the scene, and extradited back to El Paso.
