Los Angeles firefighters spend the night battling wildfires that forced at least 30,000 residents including celebs to leave their multi-million-dollar mansions on Tuesday.
The Pacific Palisades fire that erupted Tuesday to reach the border of Santa Monica is the largest of four fires that consumed 3,000 acres and destroyed dozens of homes.
Among those who had to evacuate the ravaged area were Mark Hamill, Spencer Pratt, and Heidi Montag.
Forecasters believe the “worst is yet to come” as a dry windstorm is set to batter the area fueling the fast-spreading flames.
“It’s heartbreaking to witness the loss of a vibrant community,” said CBS Correspondent Jonathan Vigliotti.
“So many landmarks have already been lost to the Palisades Fire and sadly the worst is yet to come.
“So far the fire has not reached the Palisades Village – the main shopping area, but flames are blocks away.”
Fox reporter Matthew Seedorff added: “This fire is out of control and ripping through Pacific Palisades, CA. At least 20 homes destroyed from what I’ve seen, but maybe more.”
