A Georgia boy was badly burned during a sleepover with friends who poured boiling water on his face while he slept.
The horrific incident occurred at a Tifton apartment where the 12-year-old victim and three friends, aged between 12 and 15 years old, were having a sleepover.
“I mean, I really can’t describe it now. In that moment, I was just mad, hurt, in shock, everything,” the victim’s mother said.
“I was seeing red. I was just trying to hurry up and get him some help.”
The boy was rushed to the burn center in Augusta and underwent surgery. He sustained second-degree burns on most of his face.
The culprits claimed their depraved act was meant to be a prank. They are now facing serious charges.
“You got to be in shock to know your friends are capable of doing this to you, somebody you trusted. It’s just horrible,” the victim’s aunt said.
“He never thought something like this would happen to him.”
