A Tuscaloosa mother was gunned down in front of her children on New Year’s Eve, police said.
Brittany Bolden, 34, suffered a fatal gunshot wound late Tuesday at the hands of her 34-year-old boyfriend, Lovelle Rodgers.
The shooting occurred in the 3400 block of Joyce Lewis Lane at around 8:30 p.m.

Detectives initially believed Bolden’s wound might have been self-inflicted but further investigation showed that she was the victim of a murder.
The shooting occurred in front of Bolden’s children. Police said there were prior domestic violence incidents between the couple.
Rodgers has been charged with capital murder. He is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail without bond.
