A Chicago boy is clinging to life in Mexico after he was shot along with his father and two relatives during a trip to Mexico.

The 14-year-old was the only survivor of the incident that claimed the lives of his father, Vicente Pena Jr., his uncle, Antonio Fernandez, and a Mexican relative on Friday.

The victims were found with gunshot wounds to their heads near their vehicle, authorities said.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain scarce but the family said the family was traveling in a GMC SUV with Illinois plates.

“It’s very heart-wrenching, and currently, this family is living a nightmare. We just want to bring them home, so they can be safe,” activist Julie Contreras said.
