Additional human remains were recovered from a southern California shoreline near the site where a vessel capsized earlier this week, authorities said.
Palos Verdes Estates Police officers responded on Christmas Day morning to reports of a human leg spotted on the shoreline.
On Thursday, officers responded to the shoreline again after a second human leg and a femur were found.
Investigators are awaiting the findings of the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine if the remains belonged to the capsized boat.
The vessel overturned near the rocky shoreline on Dec. 23. The two fishermen who were aboard were not found.
In a separate incident, a human skull and bones were found in the same area a month earlier.
It is currently unclear whether the recent remains are linked to that incident.
