Waxahachie news, Texas news.

A Texas inmate fatally assaulted a detention officer at a Waxahachie jail Monday afternoon, the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office said.

Isaiah Patrick Bias, 28, died after being attacked by 45-year-old Arron Semion Thompson as he returned him to his cell following his daily, one-hour break.

Sheriff Brad Norman said Bias worked at his department for six years and was a family-oriented person.

“He was one of the kind of guys who if you needed help, he’d come help you,” the sheriff said.
