A Houston veteran was brutally assaulted and killed over a parking spot last week, police said.
80-year-old Earl Hollins was allegedly attacked by Anthony Ray Boyce, 57, on Dec. 6 following a dispute in the parking lot of Food Town grocery.
Hollins, a military veteran, suffered severe injuries and was declared brain dead. He was taken off life support and pronounced dead the following day.
“I said, ‘My God, over a parking spot. You’re going to injure my uncle, and now, finally, he’s dead, you did all of this over a parking spot’,” Hollins’ niece said.
“You took something great from us. Something that we will never get over.”
Boyce was charged with aggravated assault. Upgraded charges against him are expected.
