A McNairy County Sheriff’s deputy was fired from his job and hit with animal cruelty charges after allegedly shooting seven dogs dead during a welfare check.
Connor Brackin responded to a property after a wellness check request on the dogs on Nov. 4.
For unknown reasons, the now-former deputy started firing at the dogs, killing seven animals upon arriving at the property.
Brackin was arrested this week and charged with seven counts of aggravated cruelty to animals and eight counts of reckless endangerment.
He was fired from his job after serving less than a month with the department.
