Oklahoma City news, Oklahoma news.

At least six people were injured after severe storms battered Oklahoma City leaving a path of destruction.

The powerful tornadoes struck overnight downing trees and power lines, overturning cars, ripping roofs off buildings, and littering roads with debris.

Oklahoma City Police Department Capt. Valerie Littlejohn said at least six people were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

“There is a significant damage to homes in the area,” the Choctaw Police Department said.

Several shelters were made available for residents and those left without power.

Flooding was reported in some areas following heavy rainfall and a number of houses caught fire caused by lightning strikes, officials said.
