Investigators determined that the baby was “unintentionally” left in the car by a relative who went to the school without dropping the child off at the daycare.
“This is a tragic situation and our hearts go out to the family of the child,” the sheriff’s department said.
The incident marks the 37th hot car death in the United States this year. Last year, 29 children died after being left in hot cars.
